Case study · Concept build, not a client · 2026

Six Italian places sell the party room. This one sells the pasta.

A concept build for a small family trattoria on Hylan Boulevard. I read the six Italian restaurants a local diner weighs it against, including the one directly across the street.

1 · What the market says

Everyone said the same things.

Every one of them is a big menu and a banquet room. Four don’t show their hours on the homepage. Nobody sells being small.

2 · What I built

Every part of the page is there for a reason.

  1. 1

    The food and the street

Three rivals’ headlines were just their names. This one says what’s made here and where it is.

  2. 2

    Open or closed, right now

Live status and hours in the first screen, always correct. Four of the six rivals keep their hours off the homepage.

  3. 3

    One action: call

The rivals push ordering, reservations, events and rewards at once. Here, one button wins.

  4. 4

    Hands, not rooms

Every photo is the family’s hands, on a field the colour of the pasta. No banquet hall in sight.

  5. 5

    Small, said out loud

The whole site is three doors. One menu of fifteen dishes, not six menus.

  6. 6

    A regular, by name

A named review before the second call button. Only one rival showed a named review at all.
